Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2, 2026

This policy describes how Brian Afeli handles information when you use the endgbv mobile app or the Nairobi GBV Directory website at endgbvnairobi.org.

Information the service handles

How information is used and shared

Mobile app directory and assistant searches are processed locally using the snapshot bundled with the app. Website assistant messages are processed by Google Gemini; the directory server does not save those messages in the directory database. Review Google's Privacy Policy and Render's Privacy Policy.

The website may load fonts and images from third-party websites. The mobile app uses a content policy that prevents its pages from contacting third-party services; some decorative online images and fonts may therefore be unavailable in the app. Following an external link or choosing a phone or email contact opens the relevant external service or your device's calling or email application. Those actions require the relevant network or telephone service and are subject to the third party's privacy practices.

The app does not request device location permission and does not include an advertising or analytics SDK in the reviewed build.

Retention and your choices

The app does not provide user accounts or save questions typed into its offline assistant. Conversation messages remain visible in the current screen while you use it; closing or reloading the screen clears that view. The installed directory snapshot remains on your device as part of the app until you update or uninstall it. Website assistant requests are processed by service providers under their own policies. You can browse the directory without using an assistant.

Children and sensitive situations

The directory includes information about services for children, but the app is not an emergency-response service. Avoid entering personal or case details in the assistant. For urgent help in Kenya, call the GBV Hotline on 1195 or Police on 999 or 112.

Security and changes

Connections to the directory server use HTTPS. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. This policy may be updated as the app changes; the effective date above will be revised when changes are made.
